Birds of the Doubtful Valley - TÅ«Ä«
Early Europeans called TÅ«Ä« the parson bird due to the white tuft at its throat, however now the MÄori name is solely used. TÅ«Ä« feed mainly on nectar from native flowering plants. TÅ«Ä« are known for their noisy call which combines bellbird-like notes with clicks, cackles, creaks and groans.
