Au Bon Climat Knox Alexandar Pinot Noir 2019

Fermented and aged in new French oak, again, this time for 22 months in total. This has more of a mocha, grated dark chocolate and malt character to it thanks to the heavier char. Darker flavours here such as Black Doris plums, boysenberry and bing cherries. It has the delicacy of a Pinot Noir for sure on the palate. A bit more herbaceous in style on the palate – not due to being unripe but the distinct ageing and winemaking techniques giving it this profile. It has underbrush, cooked mushrooms and clove running into the finish.
