Turkish Kilim—Wajiha
This little Turkish kilim is a traditional Soufreh or 'Eating Cloth' which was once used on the floor as a communal table cloth on which plates of food were placed. This Soufreh was woven over 50 years ago in Bodrum which is on the Aegean coast of Turkey.
The Soufreh design typically has a plain background containing a zig-zag motif and sometimes with a central medallion.
Today, they make wonderful wall-hangings, however equally can be used as a floor rug. The square shape makes the soufreh a very versatile kilim.
