Starry starry ngaio ring

Ngaio leaves are so magic when light shines through them, they make me think of bright white stars.
This Starry Starry Ngaio ring has a bright white diamond star set with an engraved star either side.
It measures 2.8mm wide and.8mm thick sterling silver.
First I star set the tiny diamond.
I then hand engraved a star either side of the centre star with my graver (a hand held cutting tool which uses my strength and control only, so there is no machine involved.)
I make many of these rings but they are all different as I engrave each one by eye.
I love engraving with a graver, the process, the simplicity, the skill and the result. You just can’t get that bright sparkle and hand crafted feel with laser cut or cast or roll printing techniques.
