Wishing star earrings

These sparkling stars are inspired by the origami wishing star, which are cute little puffy stars. I have scalloped the edges to give the puffy 3D look.
I have hand set these natural Australian sapphires in a simple 5 point star, the old fashioned way, with a handheld graver and finely tuned muscles and eyes.
These earrings measure about 11mm across and are just shy of 2mm thick, they are nice and light.
I make many of these earrings but they are all different as I engrave each one by eye.
I love engraving with a graver, the process, the simplicity, the skill and the result. You just can’t get that bright sparkle and hand crafted feel with laser cut or cast or roll printing techniques.
