Sapphire wahlenbergia studs
The wahlenbergia is also known as harebell or bluebell. These are a tiny dainty little flowers with their delicate blue faces aimed upwards towards the sky. They remind me of summertime in the mountains, especially Arthurs Pass.
I have hand carved a pair of these tiny flowers and had a mould made of them. Then I have hand set the sapphire petals in a bead setting technique then engraved around each sapphire, this is hand engraved using my graver (a hand held cutting tool which uses my strength and control only, so there is no machine involved.)
I love engraving with a graver, the process, the simplicity, the skill and the result. You just can’t get that bright sparkle and hand crafted feel with laser cut or cast or roll printing techniques.
Enjoy a rare piece of jewellery that is made with skill and passion.
The flower measures approximately 8mm wide.
The post and butterfly are sterling silver.
