Puāwaitia Wrap, Kōnini
The Aho Pēpi Muslin Wrap is made from 100% organic cotton that is soft on your baby’s skin. This natural fibre is lightweight and naturally breathable for pēpis’ comfort. Puāwaitia, to blossom. The card accompanying this wrap reads:
"From this whenua, a great diversity thrives. A rich and dappled fabric of texture, colour, fragrance, form and function. Mānuka, Kōwhai, Kawakawa, our native ferns and the white-flowering clematis, known both as Puawananga and Piki-kai-arero are but a few of the distinctive flora of these lands. It is in our relationship to te taiao - our natural world, that we observe rhythm and season. We see roots that go deep to sustain and support growth. Periods of growth and rest and flourishing. A pātaka of much wisdom."
The shade Kōnini derives its inspiration from the berry of the Kōtukutuku- the Tree Fuchsia. It is a deep (though not vibrant) purple shade. The leaf of the Kōtukutuku is depicted as a single leaf on the wrap.
The wrap can also be used as a shade cover over the pram while you’re out and about, over your shoulder while feeding your little one or as a light blanket.
