Carpet (new, not recycled) shredded into fibres. Mostly wool with hessian and synthetic backing, so combining sustainable, eco-friendly material but with the durability of synthetic strands. Adds traction, cushioning and shock absorption as the fibres create a root structure to hold the sand. Wool Plus arrives in loose compacted bales, ready to be installed in your equestrian arena. The installation involves evenly spreading the bales in a grid pattern, hand raking to cover the grid section, soaking the new surface with water, power harrowing into your sand or existing surface, and then rolling them with a heavy roller. The final step is to groom the surface with a fibre groomer. This fibre is not meant to be used on its own and must have at least 10cm of sand to be effective. It requires a specialist fibre surface groomer with a roller and an irrigation system.
