Why Our Skincare Is Formulated This Way, and What We Deliberately Leave Out
Most skincare products are built by adding more. More ingredients, more actives, more claims, more complexity. Yet in practice, skin often responds best not to accumulation, but to clarity. My approach to formulation begins with restraint. Less, but better, because skin itself responds best to simplicity. I do not formulate according to trends, marketing pressure, or somebody else’s idea of what skincare should be. I formulate from observation, from the skin I live in, and from the common needs shared by skin in general. To me, formulation is not about creating complexity. It is about creating balance. Every ingredient should have a reason to exist within a formula, and every formula should support the skin without overwhelming it.This is why what I leave out is often just as important as what I choose to include. Some ingredients may still be beneficial, but they do not always belong within the balance I am trying to create.
