Kataifi (or kadaifi) is a Mediterranean and Middle Eastern pastry made from finely shredded filo dough that resembles vermicelli noodles or threads. When baked with butter, these delicate strands become incredibly golden and crunchy, commonly used to make, sweet, syrupy nut-filled desserts (similar to baklava). Added to the ostachio mix makes a lovely slightly crunchy soft paste that spreads easily.
