Dawn - Bali Blend

Dawn is named after my mum. It's also the first vase shape I ever made. Tall, simple, a little old school. The beginning of everything, really.

There was always a vase like this in the cupboard. Dusty. Plain. The kind you'd walk past a hundred times without thinking twice. But come spring, it would come down off the shelf, filled with roses from the garden, and suddenly it was the most important thing in the room.

This one isn't for the cupboard. It's made to live out in the open, somewhere you'll see it every day. A quiet reminder of the people around you and the memories you share with them.

Made for dried flowers, for kitchens, for the kind of moments that don't photograph well but stay with you anyway. Life is about experiencing the memories not looking back at them

Hand thrown in Auckland using sand and clay from the New Zealand coast. Naturally speckled. Every piece slightly different, like it should be.

26cm tall and 19cm at the widest point

A note on use: this piece is sculptural rather than functional. The clay body is intentionally coarse and porous, the kind of material that holds texture and character but does not hold water. It is designed to live on a shelf, a table, a windowsill, not a sink. That is not a limitation. It is just what this clay is.
