About these pangahono pikitia -

These picture puzzles are designed to help tamariki (and adults too!) use phonics to sound out words in Te Reo Māori, in a fun and engaging way. Words are broken up in different ways to help you sound out kupu Māori e.g. i/wi, ka/pu/a

Each puzzle is made up of 2, 3 or 4 self-correcting pieces. They feature bold letters and beautiful illustrations, including parts of the taiao (environment) and key elements that make up Māori identity (e.g. iwi, awa, waka.) - y ou can also use these puzzles to practise your pepeha!

Each puzzle is completed by putting together the picture and corresponding word.
