Kirameki Bannockburn Pinot Gris 2024

Fresh, fruity & delicious Bannockburn Pinot Gris.

Crafted in an off-dry style, this wine displays fragrant aromas of fresh ripe pear, feijoa, white peach, pineapple, lime zest, honeysuckle and hints of ginger.

The palate is well balanced with notes of pear and nectarine. The wine has lovely fruit sweetness balanced with crisp acidity, the flavours lead to a long and perfumed finish with good minerality.

The Japanese word 'Kirameki' signifies the rocks that shimmer alongside the one hectare of sloping Pinot Gris vines at the Northern tip of our vineyard. Delivery

The strong stone fruit and spicy character allows the wine to match with a wide variety of international foods. Our picks would be bang bang chicken and pork satay. Winemaking Notes

The fruit for this ʻKiramekiʼ Pinot Gris was hand harvested on 14 April 2024 at 23.6 brix from the one hectare of sloping Pinot Gris vines at the Northern tip of our vineyard that sit alongside the shimmering rocks, known as ʻKiramekiʼ in Japanese.

The fruit was destemmed and crushed, then whole bunch pressed to tank for cold settling for two days. The juice was then racked and inoculated with selected wine yeasts and fermented in a stainless steel tank to retain the varietal and fruit characteristics. The fermentation was stopped at 7.7 grams/litre of residual sugar to enhance palate weight but also to balance acidity. Specifications
