90s Ninja hooded fleece jacket

1990s archive Ninja jacket by cult British label Vexed Generation, in black polar fleece

The Ninja jacket is designed to zip right up the hood, over the wearer's face (see final image) and has a two-way zip

Vexed Generation's clothing, their most famous garment being the Ninja jacket, emerged in the mid-90s as a response to increased CCTV surveillance, air pollution and police cracking down on illegal raves. Garments like the Ninja jacket had features like built-in face masks/ covers to grant the wearer increased anonymity and as protection from pollution, and padded hoods to, in theory, soften the blow of a police baton.

Hailed by Calvin Klein as the Helmut Lang of London, "Vexed Generation was the perfect marriage of political angst and avant-garde style".
