With the death of his father Borr, Voden becomes Lord of the Aesir..but betrayal is near at hand, and dark forces are gathering.

Voden brings dissension with him into Asgard, in the shape of Lao-Kee, the young Jotun. All his decisions seem to lead to disaster, for Lao-Kee is playing the Aesir off against each other and their enemies. Gradually, the forces of Muspellheim and Jotunheim gather for the final battle that could lead to Gotterdammerung - the Twilight of the Gods.
