A Few Words on Pictures

The language of a photograph doesn't require it to contain written words – but sometimes they happen to be there. Such words have found their way into many of Dave's pictures. Sometimes the words aren't very prominent, yet are a relevant part of the visual information. Sometimes they are more prominent and a very important aspect of the picture. At other times, the words were the very reason the picture was made. This collection of photographs spans more than 50 years. Those before 2001 were captured on either black and white or colour slide film. More recent images are from digital cameras. All are from here in New Zealand, and all contain at least one written word.
