Apples - Granny Smith 1kg
The Granny Smith cultivar originated in Australia in 1868. It is named after Maria Ann Smith, who propagated the cultivar from a chance seedling. The tree is thought to be a hybrid of the European wild apple and a domesticated apple.
Tart and acidic, the fruit remains firm when baked, making it a popular cooking apple for pies and curries – but can equally be enjoyed sliced thinly as a refreshing snack on its own or with cheese.
