Dicey Gamay 2024

 

This is a treat, with it’s dark berried fruit, supple, charming palate, and vibrancy. Fruit was harvested from the Dicey Inlet vineyard. Half was destemmed, and the other half left with 40% whole bunches. After wild yeast fermentation, the wine was aged for 10 months in seasoned french oak.

The Dicey brothers and their parents have been a part of Bannockburn’s landscape for some time now. From their 3 vineyards in this celebrated subregion of Central Otago they produce textural and lively expressions of Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Riesling, Chenin Blanc and Gamay. At times it might be dicey wine growing in the harsh conditions of Central Otago, but the quality here is anything but dicey.
