Surly designed the Bill and Ted trailers to bridge the gap between lightweight bike trailers and full-size cargo bikes. These trailers are built to haul serious loads while remaining easy to use, easy to store, and compatible with bikes you already own.
Unlike many traditional trailers that struggle with weight limits or compatibility, the Bill and Ted trailers deliver high load capacity, stable handling, and a highly adaptable hitch system—without requiring a dedicated cargo bike.
Designed to Haul More
The Bill trailer features a long, low platform that keeps cargo stable and easy to load. Built from TIG-welded 4130 CroMoly steel with stainless hardware, it’s engineered for strength, durability, and long service life.
Threaded eyelets in the trailer bed allow you to bolt on decking, corner posts, or custom accessories using materials from your local hardware or lumber store—perfect for DIY cargo solutions.

Universal Hitch System
Surly’s hitch system is designed to work with most bikes and riding setups, including full-suspension frames, disc brakes, rear racks, and fenders.
The hitch is width-adjustable to fit rear hub spacing from 120–145mm and aligns the trailer directly with the bike’s centerline. This keeps the trailer bed level regardless of wheel size—especially important when hauling long items like lumber, pipes, or ladders.
