Stinging Nettle is a highly nutritious herb traditionally used to support vitality, circulation, and overall wellbeing in horses and ponies. Rich in iron, calcium, magnesium, potassium, and vitamins A, C, and K, nettle helps maintain healthy blood, coat, skin, and joints. It’s especially beneficial during seasonal changes or when horses are recovering from illness, shedding their coat, or needing extra support for stamina and strength.

Nettle also acts as a gentle detoxifier, supporting kidney and urinary tract health by aiding in the elimination of waste and excess fluids. Its natural antihistamine properties make it useful for horses prone to skin irritations, sweet itch, or allergies.

Recommended Dosage:

- Ponies and small horses: 15–25 g dried nettle leaf per day
- Average horses: 25–40 g dried nettle leaf per day
- Large horses: up to 50 g dried nettle leaf per day

Nettle can be added directly to feed or steeped as a tea and poured over feed for easier digestion.

Note:

Introduce gradually into the diet and discontinue use 4–6 weeks before foaling. Always ensure fresh water is available.
