Blue Apatite Flatstone
Size and weight are averaged, each piece is unique and may appear slightly different from the one pictured above. Flatstones weigh between approximately 24-28g.
Please note: these flatstones range from lighter blue shade as per photographed example and a darker blue shade. Apatite also commonly exhibits natural cracking, pitting and other inclusions.
Apatite is a group of phosphate minerals, usually referring to hydroxylapatite, fluorapatite and chlorapatite. Apatite is infrequently used as a gemstone. Apatite is occasionally found to contain significant amounts of rare-earth elements and can be used as an ore for those metals. This is preferable to traditional rare earth ores, as apatite is non-radioactive and does not pose an environmental hazard in mine tailings.
