The Frankenstein Mod is a complete rebuild and enhancement service for early PlayStation 3 models. It resolves the most common hardware issues unstable GPUs, NEC Tokin capacitor failures, and excessive heat output by replacing and upgrading critical components.

This service includes:

- Replacement of all NEC Tokin capacitors with premium Tantalizers
- Voltage stabilization through board-level modification
- Thermal optimization for cooler operation
- RSX GPU swap where required, upgrading from 90 nm to 65 nm / 40 nm for lower power draw and improved reliability

The result is a more efficient, more reliable PS3 that performs the way Sony originally intended—restoring stability, eliminating YLOD risk, and extending your console’s life for years to come.

How It Works
- Book the service – Purchase this product and include your console’s model number at checkout.
- Ship your console – You’ll receive detailed shipping instructions for sending your PS3 to our New Zealand workshop.
- We rebuild and test – The full Frankenstein Mod is performed, including diagnostics and multi-day stability testing.
- Return shipping – Your rebuilt console is returned fully tested and covered by warranty. Return shipping costs are paid once the service is complete and before dispatch.

Turnaround Time: Typically 2–3 weeks (excluding shipping).
Warranty: 6 months workmanship warranty on all completed units.
Shipping: International customers are responsible for inbound and return shipping costs, including any duties and customs tax.
