Cooking Class: Masala Chai & Bombay Sandwich

 

Many traveller-focused sites will hail the vada pao as Mumbai’s ultimate street food and Lassi as the Indian drink of choice but my vote is for the Bombay Sandwich and Masala Chai! Experience the unique flavours of Indian cuisine with this online cooking class where you'll learn to make both these favourites.

You’ll be guided by me, Chief Eating Officer at Dolly Mumma, Perzen Patel – food writer, food producer and cooking teacher.

Over the course of 75 minutes, you'll learn how to make a basic coriander and mint chutney, put that chutney to good use in a classic Bombay Vegetable Sandwich and understand the basics of Masala Chai, possibly India's national drink of choice.

You'll learn how to make delicious Indian food of course but I'll also share personal stories and historical context that will make the recipes come alive. Whether you’re completely new to Indian food, or you have your favourites you always stick with, this class will teach you that there's more to cooking Indian than perfecting a curry.
