Hi Fin Red Banded Goby
The , also known as the Striped Goby or Blackray Shrimp Goby, features a silver-white body accented with bold diagonal red bands and a striking yellow face. This peaceful species is well-suited for reef or passive fish-only aquariums and may form a fascinating symbiotic partnership with a pistol shrimp.
A minimum tank size of 10 gallons is recommended, with a sandy substrate and plenty of live rock to provide burrowing areas and hiding spots. While generally non-aggressive, it may display territorial behavior toward other gobies of the same species if space is limited. Interestingly, it’s not uncommon for them to share a burrow with another goby species.
Its diet should include a mix of mysis shrimp, enriched brine shrimp, and finely chopped table shrimp. Feedings should take place at least twice daily. Upon introduction to a new tank, it may refuse food for a few days but typically adapts and begins eating once it acclimates.
