This is always one of New Zealand's most impressive white wines. Given the utmost care and attention, this famous wine is tour de force chardonnay in every sense and this latest release is stunning in every regard. Big. Balanced. Bold. Beautiful.

Tasting note

Cameron Douglas MS: "Excellent bouquet, creamy peach and red apples, noticeable but well-placed aromas of barrel and spices. Follow through on the palate is perfect and reflecting the bouquet with a full-bodied silk-cream mouthfeel, plenty of acidity and freshness, a touch of salinity and plenty of complexity. White and yellow peach, apple and ripe citrus. Complex and long."

Stephen Wong MW: "Subtle nose with layered complexity. Smoke, oyster shell, grilled lemon. Restrained power. The palate is concentrated and sapid, straddling ripe grapefruit and white peach flavours but held tightly in check by long, chalky phenolics and hed, saline acidity. The oak is nicely woven into the structure. A modern, carefully crafted and balanced wine which harnesses reduction and acidity to create an impression of minerality and length. As impressive as it is now, it will improve in bottle and gain more nutty complexity over time."

Complex aromas of integrated seasoned oak, ripe stone fruit, brioche and mealy characters complement dried summer herbs and oak complexity.
