Soft aniseed aromas lead the way, recalling old-fashioned sweet shops and smoky aniseed lollies, before the palate turns bolder, warmer, and more herbaceous. It is a characterful release from a distillery that has built an international reputation for adventurous botanical spirits, earning the New Zealand Trophy for Botanical and Other Spirits in 2022.

This expressive 45% spirit brings together aniseed, caraway, and fennel in a concentrated, full-flavoured style. The initial sweetness quickly gives way to a lively burst of spice and herbal warmth, while adding chilled water or soda softens the intensity and opens up its aromatic layers. Serve it in a tall glass over plenty of ice, lengthened with cold water or soda, and watch it turn beautifully cloudy as the botanical oils are released.
