Last Light's Cask Strength Solera Aged Rum is a bold, premium New Zealand rum that gives you the distillery’s solera style in its most concentrated form. Made by Last Light Rum, this expression is drawn straight from the final nursery of the solera and bottled undiluted, unfiltered and untouched, which gives it a deeper, more intense profile than the standard release. It is a proper sipping rum for drinkers who like richness, texture and a bit more firepower in the glass.

This cask strength solera-aged rum is matured in a combination of American and French oak within Last Light’s fractional blending system, then left without chill filtration so more of the natural flavour compounds remain intact. That gives it a fuller, more layered style, with orchard fruit, maple syrup, caramelised brown sugar, dry oak and vanilla all building into a long, spicy finish.

Tasting Notes

Autumnal and full-bodied with red apple, cinnamon and maple syrup on the nose, followed by candied sweetness, caramelised brown sugar, dry oak, soft vanilla and a long, spicy finish.
