Dahlia Gathering II Original Artwork

This gorgeous grouping of dahlia flowers features a palette of greens, peaches, blues & crimsons. Each petal is delicately layered with colour. I painted this while experimenting with blocking colour using gouache paint.

Gouache has a very bold, mat colour. This took many hours to paint, as gouache dries extremely quickly and it required constantly mixing fresh colour.

As the artwork is on a 300gsm watercolour paper, it can either be purchased unframed or with a frame that has a 5cm mat board.

The frame & mat board adds 7cm to the artwork.
