The Story:
Artistic genius Robert Delaunay (1885-1941) founded Orphism, a fusion of vibrant color, Analytical Cubism, and futurism that replicated nature’s light and rhythms. His works contained faceted planes of color and mathematical precision. Delauney also profoundly influenced abstract art’s emergence in the 1920s. This piece, call Helice in French, translates to Propeller in English. An homage to early flight, is shows the distortion of light and the color generated by the very fast movement of a propeller.
