Canyon Block Puzzle
A sculptural desktop puzzle crafted from Paper-Wood, the innovative material created by laminating recycled coloured paper between layers of Hokkaido-grown timber. When cut, Paper-Wood reveals a striking striped cross-section, patterns that become even more compelling when the blocks are arranged, rotated, or stacked.
Each piece is precisely shaped into a tetradecahedron (14 faces), offering endless geometric combinations. Join them side by side to create shifting canyon-like forms or build upwards to explore rhythmic, architectural structures. Both an object to play with and a piece to admire, the puzzle sits neatly within its solid wooden frame when not in use.
Made by Takizawa Plywood in Hokkaido, each sheet of Paper-Wood is manually checked and refined, ensuring a flawless edge that can be left proudly exposed. This award-winning material, recipient of the Good Design Award in 2010, has been embraced by designers and architects worldwide for its expressive colour and exceptional craftsmanship.
