Overview: The produced by steam distillation of the seeds of Daucus Carota. A carrot plant needs 2 years to obtain seeds. It is understood that over 40 million tons of carrots are produced worldwide and China handles 45% of that. Interestingly carrots were originally cultivated for their aromatic leaves and seeds rather than the roots. The harvest of carrot seeds is traditionally Mid-August.
