Overview: Fir Needle essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of the needle of Abies Sibirica Ledeb. A close relative of pine, this tree lives in the cold climate in river beds and mountains mostly in the northern hemisphere. It is a highly frost resistant tree which can tolerate up to -50°C. has a refined and smooth scent compared to pine oil and a favourite oil in aromatherapy. Fir needle oil is long used by the North American indigenous groups for wellness practices. The Siberian origin fir and the Canadian origin fir are generally used for essential oil production.
