WHAT WE LOVE:

The Kurono Tokyo Toki Anniversary Edition is a quietly beautiful expression of independent Japanese watchmaking. Released in 2021 to mark the brand’s second anniversary, it features a unique salmon-tone dial inspired by the plumage of the Japanese crested ibis — or Toki. The colour shifts subtly between copper, rose, and dusty pink depending on the light, lending the watch a soft glow that never feels loud.

Its 37mm polished steel case is cleanly proportioned and faithful to Hajime Asaoka’s elegant, Art Deco-inspired design language. The polished hands, stepped hour markers, and concentric dial textures give just enough complexity without losing simplicity. With only 500 pieces made, the Toki is already considered one of Kurono’s defining releases.
