Seiko - 1967 Diver's Automatic '62MAS'
WHAT WE LOVE:
The Seiko 62MAS, officially known as the Seiko 6217-8000, was Seiko's first dive watch introduced in 1965. Its name is derived from the watch's movement caliber "62" and "AutoMAtic Selfdater". With a 38mm stainless steel case, it boasted a water resistance of 150 meters and featured a bidirectional rotating bezel. The dial showcased large luminous hour markers and hands for underwater visibility. The 62MAS set the foundation for Seiko's later iconic dive watches. Its significance has led Seiko to create modern reinterpretations in recent years.
