Seiko - 1970 Proof 6139-6000 'Black Pogue'
WHAT WE LOVE:
Released in 1969, the Seiko 6139 was among the first automatic chronographs, making its debut alongside other industry giants. Seiko’s innovation extended beyond this model, with the release of the world's first quartz watch, the Astron, later that same year, further cementing its place in watchmaking history.
The group of 6139 Seiko chronographs that have become known collectively as ‘Pogues’ are well-loved vintage watches. The silver dial model appears to be one of the rarer examples. This one has been very well kept, with a great-looking original dial bearing the original water resistance of these watches.
