Office Dog - Prime Corner (CD)
Office Dog have returned with the announcement of their sophomore album, ‘ Prime Corner ’ — out digitally, on vinyl and CD on June 19th via Flying Nun Records.
Threaded with themes of instability and the home, Prime Corner was predominantly authored while front person Kane Strang was house sitting for a month in West Auckland. During these writing sessions, Kane experimented properly with alternate guitar tunings for the first time. After showing his aural sketches to Rassani Tolovaa (bass) and Mitchell Innes (drums), the trio demoed the album in a whirlwind ‘Storage King’ session where the band got attached to almost all of their initial ideas and quickly laid them down over five days at Roundhead Studios around Christmas 2025. Guided by the steady hand of engineer and producer De Stevens, Prime Corner is a truly instinctual and organic record.
Dynamically, Prime Corner is a mixed bag; the album contains both Office Dog’s heaviest and softest tracks to date — and speaks to the push and pull of “normal life" as well as the feelings brought about by having no real roots in the ground. The title of the record itself was borrowed from a sign outside of a soon-to-be-developed building site on the “best spot on the street". Prime Corner is out digitally, on vinyl and CD on June 19th via Flying Nun Records.
