French Bistro Table — Early 20th Century | Original Painted Iron
Not a reproduction, and not a polite version of one — this is the real thing.
A French bistro table with its original painted iron top worn right back through years of use. The surface has broken down into a mottled field of cream, rust, and exposed metal — exactly the kind of patina that can’t be replicated or rushed.
The base is equally honest. Hand-bent iron with a simple triangular support and central ring, now carrying a full layer of oxidisation and flaking paint. Structurally sound, visually raw — it holds together beautifully without feeling overworked or restored.
This is the type of piece that works because it doesn’t try to. It brings contrast, texture, and age into a space immediately.
