Kotukutuku (NZ tree fuchsia)
Coming soon!
Kotukutuku is considered to be the world’s largest fuchsia. It can grow to 12m tall in it’s preferred forest conditions but is much shorter on our regenerating site.
It is deciduous in most areas although here in the Bay of Plenty it only loses all it’s leaves briefly in late winter before it’s flowers appear. The berries that follow the flowers are edible and both the flowers and berries are loved by native birds.
