Tawa is a New Zealand native hardwood from the lowland forests of the North Island and northern South Island, valued for its fine, even grain and understated beauty. The bronze finial is cast directly from the fruit of the Chamaedorea elegans palm.

Note: As most New Zealand native timber is not available as newly harvested material, Jennifer uses recovered native timbers in her work.
