Magic: the Gathering Commander PreCon League is returning to Gaming DNA!
One of the most requested seasonal events we've held, we're finally returning to this exciting, social, and creative format in our newly renovated space.
If you haven't played in the Commander PreCon League before, this is a great opportunity to grab a new preconstructed deck and compete in a balanced playing field over several weeks, with prizes up for grabs!
Entry for this PreCon League includes your choice of new deck from several chosen at random - that's your starting point for the League and you can start planning your upgrades from there! See more details on how this format works below.
Event Details:
Six-Week League
2pm every Sunday during the League
First event: Sunday 08 March
Last event: Sunday 12 April
Entry: $80 - covers your PreCon deck and complete weekly League entry
We have 35 different potential decks in the pool, making for a varied play experience every week!
Format Details:
Week 1: PreCon deck selection, followed by Round 1 with unmodified precon decks.
Weeks 2-6: Commander-Legal deck upgrades, with a maximum of 1 Game-Changer per colour allowed in the deck at any one time, to a maximum of 3 total.
Weekly Card Changes: A per card value limit of $15 applies - limit based on 1:1 CardKingdom on the event date of the change. The number of changes each week is as follows:
>Week 2: 8 cards
>Week 3: 7 cards
>Week 4: 6 cards
>Week 5: 5 cards
>Week 6: 4 cards
Your starting Commander cannot change, but you may choose any Commander or Partner Commanders contained in your original pre-con deck that meet the deck's colour identity requirements to use from Week 1.
Your deck and upgrades will be recorded with Gaming DNA each week before play begins. Please ensure you arrive before 2pm each week to collect and modify your decklist.
Play and Points:
Pods are allocated at random for the first two weeks. A tiered system may be introduced for the last three weeks depending on game play.
Points are allocated for each player based on their placing in their pod.
Prizing:
End of League prize pool will be based on total entries.
Past League prizing has included Commander Product, Store Credit, and of course Bragging Rights! 0
