For sowing: For early crops, raise seeds in pots filled with fine seed-raising mix in a warm, well-lit, protected position. Transplant after 3–4 weeks. For direct sowing, press 4–5 seeds into mounds of moist soil spaced approximately 40cm apart, then thin to the two strongest plants. Seeds can also be sown next to a trellis or support structure around 1.5m high.
For growing on: Grow in a sunny, well-drained position. Water regularly at the base of the plant to prevent bitterness in fruit. Harvest cucumbers when they are approximately 10cm long to encourage continuous production. Includes:
