For sowing: Sow seeds directly where they are to grow. In colder areas, grow in pots placed in sheltered positions. Cover lightly with fine seed-raising mix, firm gently, and keep moist until germination occurs.

For growing on: Grow in a sunny, well-drained position. Water regularly and harvest leaves frequently to encourage continuous growth. Make successive sowings every few weeks for an ongoing supply. Water at the base of plants to reduce disease risk. Protect young plants from snails and slugs. Includes:
