Kiwi, the flightless bird of the night and iconic species of New Zealand.

The iconic Brown Kiwi is an endemic bird only found in New Zealand, living in the North Island and on nearby Barrier Island.

Kiwi are flightless birds, belonging to an ancient group of birds that can't fly, including the Australian Cassowary, Emu and the extinct Moa.

Brown Kiwi are the most common Kiwi, but they're declining rapidly in the wild. They're considered 'At Risk' and experts say they could be extinct within two generations.
