The White Heron is a symbol of rarity in New Zealand, Maori considered it so rare and beautiful as to be seen once in a lifetime.

Known as 'the bird of a single flight', it's believed they flew to New Zealand on the winds from Australia hundreds of years ago. They have one known nesting ground in Whataroa, on the South Island's west coast, after breeding they can be seen around the country.

Featured in striking white against a soft grey blue background, with highlights of golden yellow on it's beak.
