Koata Glasses - Set of 4
Four tumblers. Four journeys into the ngahere.
The whakaaro behind these designs is an imagined Aotearoa, a utopia yet to be discovered by Kupe. Set deep within the ngahere, a time of crystal-clear water, rolling maunga, thriving taiao, and the manu.
It’s a gentle reminder of the beauty that once was, and the responsibility we carry as kaitiaki of this whenua. A quiet call to protect, preserve, and reimagine our connection to the natural world.

"My name is Talia Musson (née Kingi). I’m a blend of Waikato and Ngāpuhi, but my whakapapa also carries a rainbow pinwheel of DNA, with tīpuna tracing back to Northern and Central Europe, the Middle East, and the Pacific. Born and raised in the Waikato, and still living here i teenei waa.
I’m a one-wahine maaori graphic design pakihi (business) and have been self-employed for 14 years.
While Toru Whaa is mostly a one-waahine pakihi, my husband Ian (Ngaati Porou) occasionally jumps in to handle “business." He thrives on all those things like public engagements, whatever a business canvas model is, and strategic direction. He has a passion for inspiring and nurturing rangatahi in the start-up space and works for Young Enterprise doing said mahi, but every now and then he’ll jump on a side quest under the guise of Toru Whaa".
