Vitamin C is an essential antioxidant vitamin that the body cannot produce. Its main function in the body is its role in producing collagen, the substance that makes up ligaments, tendons and connective tissue vital to the body structure. Vitamin C supplementation has been shown to enhance the immune system promote wound healing support neurotransmitter and hormone production and promote the health of all cells in the body. Vitamin C is one of the most important antioxidants. It works in an aqueous environment in the body both intra and extracellularly. It is considered as the first line of antioxidant protection in the body and therefore much research has been undertaken into its potential role in preventing chronic diseases resulting from free radical and oxidative damage.
Vitamin C deficiency may occur as a result of poor dietary intake or the using of conventional medications that are known to be associated with depletion. Vitamin C deficiency can result in a diminished immune response, susceptibility to infection and slow wound healing. Vitamin C supplementation corrects a condition called scurvy, one of the oldest known nutritional deficiencies. Each 5g dose (approximately 1 rounded 5ml measuring spoon) contains:

Calcium ascorbate threonate complex - 1000mg

Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) - 750mg

Vitamin C (sodium ascorbate) - 250mg

Vitamin B2 (riboflavin) - 7mg

Citrus bioflavonoid complex - 100mg

Hesperidin - 35mg

Rutin - 100mg

Also contains: Maltodextrin, natural flavouring, thaumatin and xanthan gum. Calcium content (from calcium threonate) 99mg/5g, Sodium content (from sodium ascorbate) 33mg/5g.

Dosage

Recommended Dosage - Mix with fruit juice, water or fluid.
Adults adolescents over 13 years: 1 rounded 5ml measuring spoon daily.
Children 9 to 13 years: 1/2 a 5ml measuring spoon daily.
Children 4 to 8 years: 1/2 a 2.5ml measuring spoon daily.
During times of illness, stress or infection: The recommended dosage (for the age group) could be considered and be taken each three hours until symptoms improve. Reduce dose gradually over the next three days, then maintain 1 once or twice a day dose. If bowel discomfort occurs, reduce intake accordingly.
For long term maintenance: Take 1 heaped teaspoon daily. Take regularly for best results.

Precautions

Keep out of reach of children. Replace cap immediately after use. Best if used within 3 months of opening. High dosing may cause bowel looseness. Store below 25C.
