Top feeding water in high volumes disrupts the top layer of your growing medium and can expose roots causing unnecessary stress. These caps are placed on top, with the plant in the center. When watering, simply pour the water into the cap. From there the channels in the cap will distribute the water flow evenly around the plants' stem down into the growing medium also these work perfectly with rock wool cubes.
