Apple Tree Bronze Hook – Hand-Forged Wall Hook in Bronze

A unique, decorative apple tree branch hook cast from an actual branch taken from the urban orchard surrounding our Auckland workshop. This is not a stylised interpretation—it's a real apple tree branch, complete with authentic bark detail, transformed into a functional bronze sculpture.

The story behind this hook began with a simple need: I wanted a hook for my workshop but didn't want a stock-standard option. This led me down the road of searching for interesting alternatives, using the garden as inspiration. The apple tree that inspired this piece is home to two of my favourite varieties—Braeburn and Granny Smith—and each hook captures the organic, irregular beauty of a natural branch.

Each Apple Tree Bronze Hook started life as a branch on an apple tree, which was pruned. I turned one of these pieces into a wooden apple hook, which was then moulded and then cast into solid bronze. The result is a limited edition piece where every hook preserves the unique character, texture, and bark detail of the original branch.

Care Instructions: Bronze will naturally develop a rich patina over time. To maintain the original finish, gently polish with a soft cloth. To encourage patina development, simply allow the piece to age naturally.
