NikeCraft - General Purpose Shoe (Tom Sachs)
Global footwear giant Nike began in 1963 as a small-scale business venture between University of Oregon runner Phil Knight and his coach, Bill Bowerman. Initially operating as an Onitsuka Tigers importer, personal ambition led Knight and Bowerman to begin designing their own sneakers under the Nike moniker in 1970.
According to Tom Sachs, your sneakers should not be the most exciting thing about you. They are tools. They do their job so you can do yours. It took them 10 years to make a sneaker this simple, as simple as can be and no simpler. The NikeCraft General Purpose Shoe is the uniform for the Tom Sachs Studio team. It could be your uniform too!
They feature a knitted upper, a 3-piece cup sole, and Tom Sachs and NikeCraft branding throughout/.
