Cat’s Claw most commonly contains both Pentacyclic Oxindole Alkaloids (POAs) and Tetracyclic Oxindole Alkaloids (TOAs).

Multiple studies published in peer-reviewed journals suggest that the preferred chemotype contains only POA’s, which are often recognized for promoting a balanced immune system.

In 2000, NutraMedix introduced Samento, a rare chemotype of Cat’s Claw that does not contain TOAs and only contains POAs.
